Micaela Van Patten

Hi I'm Micaela :) God's daughter. It's pretty simple, yet so powerful to be His child. I am seeking to say 'yes' to His every invitation in life and it has been the greatest adventure ever!!! Thank you for partnering with the story the Lord is writing with the pencil of my life. May every line be for His Glory alone!

My story is that the Gospel has changed my life from top to bottom. I was blessed to have grown up in a Christian home with an incredible foundation from Scripture. When I was half way through college it hit me... my life looked alright on the outside but deep inside I didn't truly know Jesus. I began to ask Him for hunger in order to know Him intimately and relationally. Soon my whole life got flipped on its head and I began to fall in love with Jesus. During the remaining two years of college, I grew tremendously in my faith and began to pour out into local ministry (the great commission begins in your hometown). I always used to think you had to be seven years old and hear the audible voice of God to be a missionary. The Lord quickly proved me wrong and my heart began to ache for the nations. As soon as I graduated I went on a six month journey in missions through a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) DTS (Discipleship Training School). I was sent to the country of South Africa and saw the Lord pour out His Spirit and the power of salvation! Wherever the Lord may lead next, I desire to say 'yes' and see His heart put on display for all the world to see and respond.

One time when seeking the Lord... I asked a rather audacious question: "Lord, what is my purpose, calling, or vision statement of my life?". My heart was quickly impressed with this motto- to teach people to fall in love with Jesus. Now in order to do this, I must first fall in love with Jesus daily. This is my life goal.

My monthly costs equal approximately $325. This includes housing, food, and transportation at $250, health insurance at $35, and phone bill at $40. My plane tickets are approximately $1,500. This includes the flight from Phoenix to Johannesburg at $1,100 and Johannesburg to East London at $100, including checked bags at $300.
