About me

Hello! I am Chris Lee and my wife is Christine. We have 2 beautiful daughters, Christella and Christacey. The Lord has called us to serve in Tacloban Philippines. I havre a ministry with young men, teaching them how to do woodworking, and discipling them to follow Jesus. We call it, 'DISCIPLESHIP THROUGH LIVELIHOOD." I get to spend many hours with these boys in the shop and we work, pray, and read the Bible together. Thank you for supporting my family to do this ministry.

My story

I am so grateful for the journey God has sent me on, and so happy to be serving our community. I am originally from Cainta, Philippines. I grew up in a Christian family, and I believe that is a huge blessing. We were poor. My father worked in a concrete company as a maintenance man, and my mother worked whatever job she could find. When I was young, a Christian organization was doing ministry in our community. Through them I started serving people and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. My faith became stronger, and serving my community became my passion. In 2013, after the big typhoon hit Tacloban, I volunteered to help. When I arrived, I saw the destruction and many people died. It was very hard, but the Lord made me fall in love with Tacloban. In 2014 I moved there and left everything behind. We built houses, did feeding programs, kids ministry, and shared the love of Jesus. In 2016 I met my wife, but later that year I was diagnosed with kidney failure. After months of dialysis, my wife donated one of her kidneys and I received my first transplant. After COVID, my transplanted kidney failed, and in 2022 my mother gave me one of her kidneys for my second transplant. During the pandemic, the Lord led me to a new ministry of discipleship through livelihood. I started teaching woodworking to young men in the community. We make wooden crafts and toys to sell, while using every opportunity to share Jesus and disciple them. Today our ministry is called WOOD WHISTLERS. The income from our products supports the artisans and also provides scholarships for those who want to go back to school. I also lead Bible studies with young teens through SAYSO, helping them follow Jesus Christ. Through every season, God has been faithful, and we look forward to wherever he leads us.
